The local sharks must have heard it’s Shark Week because David Ogul of the North County Times reported that a 600+ pound Mako shark was caught off Oceanside this week. It took the fishermen two hours to reel in the big catch, in which time the shark dragged the boat several miles off course. They’re not sure exactly how much the fish weighed because it was too big for the scale. That is quite a catch!
